For a quiet afternoon, you can fish in a local fishing parks; ponds or lakes which are all well stocked with local fish. You can hire equipment. The fishing parks charge around 80 Baht/day and extra for rod hire, bait, etc. (Some parks also charge for fish caught by the kilo, if you want to take your fish away).
North Pattaya Fishing Park also known as "Soi 3 Fishing Park" charges 100 Baht/house rod, bait 20 Baht/packet - and serves food and drink and has live music after dark. If you prefer to go for the big one!
The water around Manwichai, Rin and Kram islands are popular for marlin, king mackerel and barracuda. Offshore fishing trips are organished by many local operators. Enquire at the tour shops.
